~Highway 61 1970 Mustang Mach I – 1:18 diecast MIB Description : This auction features a 1:18th scale diecast of the 1970 Ford Mustang Mach I in Silver Metallic , with black stripping and interior. This Limited Edition issue was released in 2001 and was produced in a run of only 600 pieces. The Ford Mustang Mach 1 was the performance model of the Mustang produced starting in 1969. The Mach 1 was introduced as an in-between model, a fit between the lower priced GT and the track oriented Boss 302s and 429s. Outselling the base GT model, Ford canceled the GT altogether to make the Mach 1 the primary street performance Mustang. the signature “Shaker Hood” sat on top of a 390 4V, or the huge 428 4V Cobra Jet engine. Performance Mustang Pony car, 9 1/2″ long, is produced in excellent detail by Highway 61 Diecast for their Muscle Car Series. It is in mint condition in its original box. The ‘70 Mustang was the last of the Generation 1 Mach I’s. It was lighter and more aerodynamic than its followers. This model captures this performance car in a high degree of accuracy. Pony car Diecast includes: nicely detailed 427 cu. in., Cobra Jet GT V8 engine Mach I striping and markings Shaker Hood, rear window slats and Spoiler detailed interior High performance tires and working suspension Opening hood, trunk and doors This historic machine displays well. It should make an excellent addition to your vintage “Ford performance machine” memorabilia or Highway 61 diecast collectibles.
