~ Exoto 1965 Daytona Cobra #26 race car - 1:18 diecast Description : This auction features a 1:18th scale diecast of the Carroll Shelby/Pete Brock designed Cobra Daytona Coupe 1965 LeMans GT racer. This "Reims Race Winner" racer was crafted by Exoto Diecast for their Racing Legends Collectors Series. It is a limited edition release and is now long out of production. Famous Ford/Cobra LeMans racer, 8 3/4" long, is produced in exacting detail by Exoto. This Cobra Coupe was driven by Jo Schlesser and Bob Bondurant to victory at Reims in 1965. This is a very detailed 1:18 diecast model. The details are absolutely beautiful. Under the lift up hood is the well equipped, wired and plumbed big block Ford V8 engine, with accurately-scaled ignition wiring and battery cables. The magnesium wheels and the superbly-detailed Goodyear high performance tires, the vented hood and rear radiators are all accurately presented. Even the dashboard gauges are finished to the very smallest details. The doors open and close. The steering turns. The hood and rear hatch also open. It has working suspension. This racing machine from the 1964-65 season is a beautiful showpiece. It should make an excellent addition to your vintage "LeMans Endurance Racing Car" memorabilia or Exoto collectibles.
