September 2007 AUTOart Diecast Releases

autoart 86715 TOYOTA 2000 GT 24 HRS FUJI 1967 #1

After a long absence, the Toyota 2000 GT will be welcomed back by AUTOart as four different 1967 and 1968 SCCA race models. Originally conceived by renowned auto designer Graf Goertz, a running prototype was built in 1963 with the help of Yamaha. Amazingly it was rejected by Datsun who wanted a fastback sports coupe. Well, they pitched it to the guys at Toyota and the rest is history! In 1968 Carroll Shelby financed a team in the SCCA C Production Class and enjoyed several wins and podium finishes with the car. The four models being produced will be AUTOart Diecast Model Nos. 86816 (1968 Toyota 2000 GT SCCA #33), 86815 (1968 #23), 86716 (1967 #2 24 Hours of Fuji Race), and 86715 (1967 #1 24 Hours of Fuji Race). Also coming soon will be 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer WRC Rally cars!

Other AUTOart diecast model cars set to arrive are:

New Honda and Acura 1/18 Diecast From Paudi

2006 acura tl diecast model carChinese model maker PaudiModel has announced the release of four new 1/18 scale diecast pieces in their Honda-Acura lineup: 2006 Acura MDX, 2006 Acura TL (pictured left), 2006 Acura RL, and 2007 Honda CR-V. Also recently released and previously unannounced are the 2006 Mazda M3 and Buick Park Avenue.

Not exactly flash cars, PaudiModel is known more for their passenger/consumer models, but from what we've heard they have a top-notch build process and produce a high-quality replica with fantastic packaging. We'd like to see the model distributed more in Europe and North America so that they are widely available. Check back here for future news!

Hello? 1/18 Diecast World? Is Anyone There Besides AUTOart?!

AUTOart 80673 2006 porsche 911 996 alms diecast model carAs the rest of the 1/18 scale diecast model car hobby industry continues a steady trend toward non-existance, AUTOart and it's distributor Gateway Global keep pumping out high-quality, unique collectible releases, albeit at ever-increasing prices. Not to mention that they're almost all Limited Edition, which translates well into a healthy future for the company.

Posted on their AUTOart shopping site are even more fresh models which will be coming soon. Pictured is the 2006 Porsche 911 (996) RSR #45 American LeMans Series "Flying Lizard" as driven by Wolf Henzler (who replaced Jon Fogarty) and Johannes van Overbeek. We think this is the best-looking Porsche RSR model developed yet! It is AUTOart Diecast Model No. 80673 and should be available the same time as Stock No. 80671, the ghastly pink Zolder #21.
